This system is currently being installed throughout the state.  It is designed to replace the current radio system of most state agencies.   It is an OmniLink Motorola system which basically combines four Motorola SmartZone systems together to form the one system of nearly 200 transmitters, which are located throughout the state.  It is designed to cover approximately 98% of the state with its data and voice capacities. Below are the frequencies, locations, and talkgroups of MARCS sites within the coverage area of this website.  Transmitter counties are listed in the second row in bold italic, while the actual locality of the transmitter is listed in the first row.  I have borrowed the layout idea from Tom Swisher's chart.

With the Uniden 250D/785D all one should have to do is enter the control/data channels, set it to CONTROL CHANNEL ONLY mode, and let 'er rip.  In terms of the Radio Shack PRO-96 or PRO-2096, you just need to enter the control/data channels and it will work just fine - you don't have to set this option like the Uniden models.This way, you can go from site to site as reception changes, similar to the Motorola radios, while never losing watch on your talkgroups.
